Indeed, again Classic is suffering WoTLK Gold from the success and the ever-present issues in server performance have finally been resolved to the point that Blizzard took a firm and decisive action. We have today a huge amount of information released details of which can't be accomplished and, most importantly, Blizzard say the time is right to end the idea of a massive realm due to the extreme lengthy posts. To not to lose points in between discussing each one. I've created an overview of the entire matter that I'm going to review at the start here.
The pre-patch has been the very large straw which has broken the camel's back. Blizzard do not want mega brands to exist or in the long-term and are dedicated to expanding their players across a greater spectrum of realms Blizzard may lock a realm but they will not give what warning if the population grows too high. locking high population servers and offering free transfers is the answer. lock meaning no transfers and no new character creations there isn't a technical solution to raise the server cap anymore. The locked servers are simply fall layering will not increase the cap. It just provides relief when one region of the world experiences significant traffic.
As an example, my server pyre would village is currently marked as full in the realm list but we only have about two layers as everyone is scattered across the world since the day of the launch of TBC. The server has reached 12 layers, as each player in the entire game stood outside of the Dark Portal Blizzard are aware of queues , but aren't planning to add additional rounds because they are expecting an increase in players who are second retail both make use of the same technology at the backend. The server's population has never been as high as what they currently are on classic waiting to be locked up in that condition for months if needs be. And if nothing changed and they didn't do anything to improve the situation, it will only become worse due to wrath.
Yes, that's the TLDR version. And now for the slightly longer version. First up thanks for the Community Council and developer agriland for the discussion here even if it's not everything that you want to hear. I'd take this anytime over silence. So I appreciate the effort and time that is put into these blogs and updating us all on the situation I'm trying to explain the tools that players use to analyze the brown population.
It's not enough to repeat what I've explained about what about what the stock Pro will do for the many times that they've done it in a row. In general, we employ Ironforge dot Pro and whilst it's not perfect, I believe it's a decent representation. However, due to this strange change every pre patch period duration, the system is not providing accurate information. At the moment, it's dependent upon PvP leaderboards, there's no active arena season cheap WoTLK Classic Gold in the moment, and people uploading on Warcraft logs.
