According to Blizzard's customer support Twitter account D2R Items, the issues may be due to an issue that is affecting Game's servers for authentication which can result in players experiencing "failed" or "slow" login attempts. These problems with servers began following Blizzard patched players on the Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch versions of the game on October 6.
The patch appeared to be regular fare that addressed issues with player profiles not being able to share names with online avatars they created and users not being informed when games were linked to Xbox Live accounts. A fix was made to ensure that players could no longer be prevented from creating a game within their region after join a game in the region of another.
Blizzard's customer support Twitter account has published numerous updates letting players know it is aware of the problems they're having, as well as the team's efforts to implement changes.
The account has repeatedly tweeted to say that "Today's gaming and login creation issues have been fixed," but these maintenance efforts appear to be unable to resolve the issue.
Users have taken to Twitter as well as Reddit to share their thoughts about the issues they've experienced while trying to participate in Diablo II: Resurrected. There are some Diablo players who have created memes about the game's login problems, others have claimed that the issues can be a source of "i want a refund region."
Yes, although Blizzard's official Twitter feed for customer support frequently acknowledged players' patience, some have clearly got fed up of the ongoing difficulties, and have started an hashtag called #RefundD2R.
"Damn individuals, your login issues happen every day," one person tweeted along with the hashtag, while another exasperated player commented, "same day, same time the same channel D2R ladder items buy. It's unbelievable. 5 days in this crap."
