MLB The Show 26: U4GM Immortal Mission Checklist

  • The Immortal mission in MLB The Show 26 feels weird at first because it doesn't work like a normal card-series checklist. You're not hunting for a clean Immortal filter in the squad screen. You're trying to use current cards tied to players who had Immortal items back in MLB The Show 18, which gives you more lineup freedom and lets you spend your MLB The Show 26 stubs on cards that actually fit your grind.

What Are Immortal Cards In MLB The Show 26?

Immortals are basically a history check, not a clean modern series label. The Vintage Program asks for 1,000 PXP with players who were Immortals in MLB The Show 18.

That means you can test different current versions of the same legend instead of waiting for one exact card type. It's flexible, but yeah, it's also messy.

    1. The Safer Immortal Player Pool

This route is for players who don't want to waste innings. Start with names that appear in stronger guide data, ShowZone visibility, or repeated community answers.

    Good early targets include.

    • Ken Griffey Jr. is one of the clearest choices and appears as the top Immortal by ShowZone Meta Overall data.

    • Babe Ruth is widely mentioned and should be one of the first bats you test for PXP tracking.

    • Albert Pujols, Mike Trout, Mike Piazza, Chipper Jones, Ted Williams, Vladimir Guerrero, and Rich Gossage all have stronger support than fringe names.

    • Bob Gibson and Jackie Robinson are also practical picks because players keep naming them in mission-focused discussions.

Run one quick offline game, check the mission bar, then commit. Don't grind 1,000 PXP blind just because a name sounds legendary.

    2. The Risky Names You Should Test First

This branch is for players who already own a lot of legends and want to squeeze value out of cards sitting in the binder. Some names are disputed, so treat them like trials.

    The main questionable names are.

    • Ryne Sandberg appears in some Immortal lists, but at least one player reported that his Jolt card didn't move the Immortal mission.

    • Cal Ripken Jr., Tom Seaver, Dennis Eckersley, and Bob Feller were questioned by players who thought some of them may have been Career Arc cards instead.

    • Yogi Berra appears in ShowZone's visible top Immortal data, but he is missing from some Vintage guide and forum lists.

These cards might still work, but don't assume. One game with mission tracking open is worth more than ten forum replies.

    3. Vintage Program Progress Without Moments

The Vintage Program is nice because it doesn't force you into Moments. You can stack normal stats, PXP, wins, and bonus tasks in whatever mode feels fastest.

The cleanest stack looks like this.

    • Fill your lineup with Vintage Series hitters to chase hits, total bases, runs, home runs, and Vintage PXP at the same time.

    • Use eligible Vintage pitchers when possible so strikeouts and Vintage PXP move together.

    • Grab one Conquest win and one Battle Royale win early if those modes don't slow you down.

    • Use any Carlos Beltran card for the 500 PXP bonus since it's a smaller grind than the Immortal or Jolt missions.

The 6,000 PXP with any players will move naturally while you work on everything else. Don't treat it like a separate wall unless you're nearly done.

    4. Jolt Overlap Can Save Time

This path is for grinders who want two missions moving at once. Some cards may help with both Jolt PXP and Immortal-related PXP, but the overlap isn't guaranteed.

    Names to watch include.

    • Billy Wagner, Rich Gossage, Dennis Eckersley, Mike Piazza, and Ryne Sandberg were mentioned as possible Jolt and Immortal overlap options.

    • Chase Utley, Larry Walker, Terry Pendleton, Ubaldo Jimenez, and Fred McGriff matter for Jolt PXP, but they shouldn't be treated as Immortal cards by default.

    • Lou Gehrig is a strong Vintage reward, yet he shouldn't be assumed to count for the Immortal mission.

Overlap is great when it works. When it doesn't, it burns time fast, so check progress after every test game.

Which Cards Should You Grind First?

Use Griffey, Ruth, Chipper, Trout, Piazza, Jackie, and Gibson if you want the safer Immortal route; test Sandberg, Ripken, Seaver, Eckersley, Feller, and Berra before a long grind; lean on Vintage cards for program points; and if your roster feels thin, browsing MLB The Show 26 stubs in u4gm can make it easier to target cards that help multiple missions instead of locking yourself into one slow path.
