  The field of finalists for this year's contest was narrowed to 15 by the beginning of January, from a total of 26 people back in November 2014.   Pace, Warner and Seau are the biggest standouts among the players who made it to the finals. Warner helped lead the Rams to their first Super Bowl win, and later took in the Arizona Cardinals to another in the loss. Pace secured Warner's blind side while in St. Louis, and Seau scored eight All-Pro selections, and was named the 1992 defense player of the year.

  The Hall of Fame announcement will take place in the Madden NFL 24 Honors event that begins at 9 p.m. ET this Saturday. It will air via NBC at Phoenix Symphony Hall at Phoenix, Ariz.

  Austin Seferian Jenkins' final season at Washington was awash in setbacks. One of the most recent was a stress fracture found in his foot during a medical checkup during the Madden NFL 24 Combine in Indianapolis that kept him from training. Even more serious was his incident involving a DUI in March 2013, for which he plead guilty and served a day in jail (the remaining 363 days in his sentence were suspended).

  In between, Seferian-Jenkins reasserted himself amongst the top tight ends in the nation. While his numbers declined, coming from a booming sophomore season, SeferianJenkins was able to take off the John Mackey Award for the top tight end in college football, and is likely to be among the first tight ends to be recognized in the Madden NFL 24 Draft in May.

  He's recovering and preparing for the next level. He spoke with Madden 24 and explained the lessons he's learnt since his arrest, and also how his self-esteem is a reflection of an athlete.

  What are you doing to prepare for the draft at this moment?

  Actually, I'm just rehabbing my foot, doing some cardio, but after that, all upper body, doing some lower lifts like leg press and whatnot. While watching a movie. That's it. And taking visits.

  How's your recovery progressing? When do you think you'll be at 100 percent?

  I'm fairly close to this. April 25 and 26 I'll return for a short check-up in order to be cleared medically, but I feel pretty good right now, pretty close to 100 percent. However, I'm not there yet.

  What sort of thing is it that you are doing to market yourself Madden NFL 24 teams right now? What's your approach to teams?

  Well, unfortunately I can't exercise. I'm an athlete and would love to workout, and do that for the teams, but I'm not able to since I'm currently recovering. So I go and tell them, when I'm visiting with teams and speaking with them, I tell them what my personality is and who I am, what I'm about, how I'm going to bring my best to the field each day. That's all I can do, and that's exactly what I'm showing them today.

  If you're conducting visits What are you most comfortable to present yourself? What can you do to differentiate yourself from a pretty talented team of tight ends?

  Anywhere I go, they're bound to be met with a capable, driven man who's bound to realize every bit of his potential out

  I'm not particularly thinking about these kinds of things. I am just thinking about my friends getting to know the person I am as a person. I'm not going to attempt to sell myself or portray something that I'm not. The truth is, I'm who I am I'm a very fun and easy-going person who likes working hard, who's highly driven and determined.

  So, I don't try to portray myself as someone I am not. I'm who I am, and I think it makes the job easier for teams to get know me and creates my job easier for myself.

  Are you likely to be able to do anything physical for teams ahead of the draft?

  The main thing is really just getting medically cleared. that's the number. 1 priority. When I'm medically cleared I'll be evaluated by my agent, and we'll determine the best way to proceed.

  What are some teams that have been in contact with You the longest?

  This is a bit of the smoke and mirrors. You don't know who's really, really interested in your work, since some people like to hold their cards tightly against their chests while others do not. There's many teams that I've spoken with however, that's a question I'm unable to answer since you can't know for certain until the draft day.

  Have you found any team that you're particular about, whether it's your childhood favorites or a system that you are a fan of?

  In all honesty, I need to be playing at the highest level of football. This is the most important aspect for me. I don't even care where I go as long as everywhere I go I'm bound to get a very talented driven and driven man who's going to maximize every bit of his potential and max all the potential I have within my body. The place I'm lucky enough to get to will bring me a man who has the fullest potential, year in, and year out.

  Are there any sportsmen you model yourself after?

  I'm convinced that I'm a great route runner. I'm still working on my consistency in being the best route runner but my ability to route run can be compared to my ability to move open and make the contested catch, my blocking. I'm one of the best tight ends who block on the field.

  I'm pretty sure I'm the most overall, you know, I'm a tight end with all-round abilities like Rob Gronkowski, who can block, catch, and make plays. Like Jimmy Graham, I can play out and catch slants across the field. Like Kellen Winslow Sr. and was a playmaker, when I have the ball on the hands of the player, I am able to find the goal zone.

  In evaluating yourself Are there areas you think you need to work on?

  I am convinced that I need to improve in every aspect. I need to improve my running ability, I have to improve my consistency of pad block level and technique. In all honesty, I'm going to have to improve on everything if I want to be where I want to be one day.

  Looking back at the combine It was difficult to believe at the very last minute that you weren't going to be able to work out?

  It's a bit frustrating because you've worked very hard for two to three months and you're determined to show everyone how fast you're at, then suddenly they say that you cannot. That's why it was a bit frustrating however I am sure doctors were watching for me and I'm thankful for that. After looking back, I'm happy I didn't go for a run as you never know what may occur, and it has happened in the past with individuals who do not take care of themselves.

  What was your immediate reaction to hearing the news?

  My first reaction was "you should let me run because I've practiced on it and I've played with it all through the year so it's unlikely to break today.'

  What was the experience like talking to teams in Indianapolis?

  It was good, it was a fun moment. You only get 15 minutes together as a team prior to when a blowhorn goes off, and it was an exciting experience. This is how it goes, and it's a wonderful experience. It was a pleasure to be lucky enough to attend the combine. I was grateful for that. It was an unforgettable experience. I will always remember it.

  I'm guessing that one the issues discussed during conversations was that of your arrest back in of 2013. Did you discuss the subject?

  It was of course. Sure, I was arrested. Every team raised it and asked me questions about it and I provided them with exactly the same answer.

  I didn't escape from it, I took on the burden of it

  It's just what it is. It was a reality. I learned plenty from it and it was one of the most positive experiences that I've had gone on in my life, even though it felt negative in the moment when it was happening.

  How did that turn into an advantage for you?

  You'll realize that you had only one chance, only one opportunity And I was lucky enough to cheap madden 24 coins get a second chance at an organization called the University of Washington. You learn to try and be a positive influence. I try and tell kids that they are high school students. I have spoken to a couple of high schools on the consequences of drinking and driving and the impact it has on people who are at risk of harming yourself, kill others or your family.

  You've mentioned being a mentor to children. Do you know anyone whom you have been a mentor to you?

  Really? No. I tend to just listen to my coaches, Steve Sarkisian and Doug Nussmeier who's currently the offensive coordinator at Michigan And when they were my coaches, I kind of followed the way they worked.
