What are Hexagon Bolts Suppliers Hexagon Bolts?
Hex bolts are threaded fasteners with a hex head. All bolts have a head. Of course, the head is the top of the bolt, combined with the narrower shank below. Hex bolts have hex heads. You can find hex bolts in different sizes, materials and specifications. Nonetheless, they all have a hexagonal head.
The head on the head bolt has six sides. It has no grooves - grooved heads are more commonly found on screws. Instead, the head consists of a solid and integrated material with six uniform sides.
The benefits of hex bolts
The hex head of the hex bolt has several advantages. For example, they are ideal for fastening applications in tight spaces. For this reason, hex bolts are often preferred in machines and equipment where space is limited.
Some bolts have a square head. The problem with square heads, however, is that they only have four sides. To loosen or tighten a bolt with a traditional wrench, you need to hold it on either side of the head. Hexagonal heads have more sides than square heads, so they provide more surface to grip with a traditional wrench. This makes hex bolts easier to use in tight spaces.
Hex bolts also allow for greater torque. Torque is turning force. All bolts need to be turned to be tightened or loosened. With a hex bolt, you will generate more torque due to its six-sided hex head. With more torque, you can remove hex bolts more easily than other types of bolts, including lag bolts.
You don't have to rely on a traditional wrench to tighten or loosen hex bolts. While a traditional wrench will definitely work, you can also use a socket wrench. Socket wrenches are available with hexagonal sockets. Hex sockets are drill bits specially designed for use with hex bolts.
