U4GM COD MW4 Clan Tag Guide

  • A clan tag is a quick way to show who you play with, even when your username says nothing about your group. In COD Modern Warfare 4, the setting sits inside the Call of Duty HQ profile menus, so you do not need to search through loadouts or account options. If you are setting up a squad identity before joining MW4 Bot Lobbies, the whole process takes less than a minute once you know where to look.

    Open Your Profile Settings

Start the game and enter the main multiplayer screen. On a console, press the Options or Menu button. On PC, select the menu icon shown on the interface. A side panel should appear. Move across the top row until you reach Profile, which is often placed towards the right side. Select it, then look for Edit Showcase. This area controls the items other players see when they inspect your public profile, including your operator, calling card, emblem, and weapon display.

    Enter and Save the Tag

Inside Edit Showcase, choose Clan Tag. You will see a small text field where letters and numbers can be entered. Keep the tag to five characters or fewer. A short mark such as 34k works well because it is easy to read during a busy match. The built-in language filter checks each entry, so a tag containing restricted wording will not be accepted. Try another combination if the game rejects your first choice.

Launch the game and open the multiplayer menu.
Press Options or Menu, then select Profile.
Open Edit Showcase and choose Clan Tag.
Type a tag with up to five characters.
Confirm the change and return to the multiplayer screen.

    What Other Players Will See

Once you confirm the entry, the game applies it straight away. The tag normally appears inside brackets beside your display name. It can show in pre-match rooms, on the scoreboard, and in supported multiplayer, Zombies, and battle royale screens. You do not need credits or a waiting period to make another change. That makes it easy to match your friends, mark a new team, or switch to a seasonal nickname.

    Quick Checks Before You Leave

If the new mark does not appear, return to Profile and confirm that the change was saved. Check the spelling too; one extra space can make the entry look different. Some symbols may not be accepted, while simple letters and numbers are usually the safest choice. Once everything looks right, load into a match and check the scoreboard. Your group identity should be visible beside your name, whether you are playing with friends or browsing CoD Modern Warfare 4 Bot Lobbies before the next session.
