Are there any large-scale layout changes being planned for RuneScape gold this update, or anything gamers have not seen before? Our quests demand bespoke gameplay and frequently include their own design challenges. At least one section of the quest involves strategic gameplay which does not really exist elsewhere in Runescape. We're also setting up for quite a few future pieces of content together with the narrative, though we won't be launch these immediately alongside the quest. Development for this new content started in March. What was that the conceptual procedure leading up to this? We had been speaking about Desperate Measures when we were designing Desperate Times, and we had discussed the story of both long prior to that. When generating new content we first create a design pitch which gets passed up for stakeholders to review and greenlight, then development will often begin immediately.
With Desperate Measures, we shuffled around development so that we can support different jobs, for example Archaeology and Farming/Herblore 120, therefore we had to tweak the layout a couple of days to match the schedule we had been working with. With regards to the wider story, however, the lore council have been talking about the particulars of this story and where it's headed for quite a while now. The pursuit has been around in synopsis/plan form for a while. When the team began full development on it, they began by fleshing out that high level synopsis to an entire experience. They needed to invent, prototype and implement the bespoke gameplay elements, as well as find ways to provide the high-level lore data in accessible and interesting ways.
What was it like performing this work around the beginning of the worldwide pandemic? Has that introduced any particular hardships? It's certainly been less than perfect. Making content is an art, and that sort of imagination really benefits from having ideas to bounce off of. Whilst Zoom is functional, you do not get the same connection with individuals, which makes it more tricky to communicate ideas. We've definitely hit hiccups in development that are the consequence of something not distributing across Zoom, which I really don't think would have occurred in person.
Add into the simple fact of handling change, so forth and in addition to the inevitable stress of a pandemic as well as duties to family, and it proves a less-than perfect setting for development. However, the RuneScape team is not flexible, and I am very proud of how everyone pulled together to take advantage of a situation that is uniquely catchy. I'm very delighted with what we have managed to produce with Measures.
There's mention of the group hoping to publish monthly content updates. What is the idea behind how you are considering pushing this story out, although things are certain to be fluid? Particularly as the planet is housebound right now, we believed that waiting for chunks of articles to emerge every couple of months has been the wrong approach. We want to be entertained, and assessing on to RunesScape every month should feel exciting, as gamers look to see what has changed regularly. That throws up challenges, as we've obviously constructed a story and ready designs based on a different release model, but we've got a program. We want every update to offer you a new goal, with a kickass reward off the rear of it, and for them all to OSRS buy gold reflect the story that we are progressing.
