In interviews with P2Pah, Kaplan said Titan's development WOTLK Gold team "failed horribly," an experience that was not familiar to the developers who have previously worked on the development of some of the biggest Blizzard games. "They were extremely talented people however, we failed horribly in every aspect... Every way an endeavor could fail. It was catastrophic.
"You had individuals who were either from other companies or within Blizzard who were accustomed to creating games that were extremely successful such as World of Warcraft, for instance. Being through the complete and total loss is extremely hard for those who are familiar with the success of other games."
In the midst of the silence following Titan's demise, the group felt the strain to make up for the loss, especially as promising new projects joined Blizzard's list of success stories.
"Pressure was coming from all directions," Kaplan continued. "Not that anyone was openly placing pressure on us and that's because you're accustomed to doing well and achieving... being in the chance to perform well was like embarrassing. You've got these fantastic projects such as StarCraft, Heroes of the Storm, World of Warcraft, World of Warcraft, and you're now on the ashes of a project that was cancelled.
"Nobody ever spoke and everyone was extremely helpful, but I'm sure there was an inward embarrassment of "No, we have to show that we are capable of making it to Blizzard as well. We have the ability to buy WOW WOTLK Classic Gold create something that will make the company proud.' It was a challenging period of time, and there was plenty of pressure. The team is used pressure, but not in that level which helped create us in a variety different ways."
