Blizzard needed to create Diablo as accessible to console playe

  • GameSpot's Diablo Immortal review scored the game D2R Items with a rating of 6/10. "Diablo Immortal is a truly excellently-feeling and premium-feeling adventure with a game that strikes all the proper points, even if its conclusion begins to depend on microtransactions too heavily," reviewer Alessandro Barbosa said.

Diablo was created for PC when it first came out in 2000. but when it came out, Diablo: Resurrected, the action-RPG classic will be available on consoles first. In the end, Blizzard had to put a lot of work into the game in order to ensure that console gamers could live up to its legendary statuswithout changing the core design for the game.

In a post on the blog diving into how Diablo Resurrected team had a look at making the game playable on consoles, design director Robert Gallerani explained how decisions taken about the game's playing on consoles were an attempt to focus "on the different players than the PC game's audience." Because many console gamers have more experience with this console edition of Diablo, Blizzard needed to create Diablo as accessible to console players.

One way Diablo: Resurrected on consoles does this is to take the lead from p2pah D2R Ladder playing book with regard to how it handles displaying and mapping capabilities.
